museum reopening safety guidelines
PLAYING IT SAFE…
Explore More is open with limited capacity so you can enjoy a safe and fun visit with family and friends.
We updated our mask policy on 3/9/2022. At this time, masks are optional but encouraged to protect our young visitors who are unable to be vaccinated. See Mask Phasing Guidelines. We’ve installed a new hand washing station at the front entrance and ask that each visitor start their experience with clean hands that are ready for play. You will also notice extra hand sanitizer stations throughout the 1st and 2nd floor.
We strive to ensure that visitors do not enter the Museum with known symptoms. Please be sure that you or your family members are healthy on the day of your visit. Please notify us if sickness or exposure to COVID-19 will prevent you from attending your registered session.
Our already robust cleaning practices have been further enhanced. Cleaning happens before, during, and after your visit. The Museum conducts deep cleaning in between the visit time slots and all high touch areas and bathrooms are cleaned and disinfected. High traffic areas receive ongoing additional cleaning.
There are changes in our early childhood exhibits. Loose part play toys have been removed from Over in the Meadow and Wonderwoods exhibits (both spaces for children under 2). Families now choose their own bag of toys to be used and then placed in the return bin for sanitizing.
We are social distancing. There is signage throughout the museum to remind children and families to keep their distance. If an exhibit area is crowed, we recommend that you find another space and come back when it’s open.
We are partners in this! We need your help to supervise your children to ensure that they are wearing masks, hand washing and keeping a distance from others. If there is anything we can do to make the experience safer, please let us know. Safety is our number one priority!
For details on our extensive cleaning practices see our Museum Cleaning Procedures.
