A gift of securities is valued at the average of the high and low price for the security (or close value for mutual funds) on the date of the gift. The Community Foundation will handle the sale of the assets. Your gift will be assessed a minimal transaction fee by the brokerage firm (normally $7 - $11 per sales transaction) and the proceeds may be subject to gains or losses on the sale of the asset depending on the sales price for the securities. 

Please note that as a partner of The Community Foundation, no additional administrative fees are charged by the Foundation for pass through gifts to Explore More Discovery Museum.  All proceeds from your donation of securities will be distributed to the Museum.
