Two different sessions. Sign up for one or both!
Each week young chefs in this class will practice basic kitchen safety and learn to use a variety of kitchen tools as they follow, make and eat a wide array of healthy and yummy recipes. They’ll also learn to set a table and practice basic etiquette skills. The best part? They get to eat supper with friends at the museum every week!
Cost: Members $85; Visitors $100
Session One: Thursdays, October 3 - 24 | 5:00 - 7:00 PM
Session Two: Thursdays, Nov 14 - Dec 12 (no class Thanksgiving week) | 5:00 - 7:00 PM
JMU Dietetics Cooking Workshops (Grades K - 5)
Saturday, November 2 | 3 different sessions
Join us for this series of delicious workshops presented by students from the JMU Dietetics Program. Through fun games and activities, participants will learn how they can make healthy and yummy decisions about the foods they eat every day. Each workshop will include a hands-on cooking demonstration and opportunity to taste recipes, sure to please even the pickiest eaters!
Cost: Free | Pre-registration is required.
REGISTRATION INFORMATION:
Classes are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Payment must be received by Explore More to secure a space in the class. We are only able to accept credit card payments in person and through on-line registration. In the event that minimum enrollments are not met, we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule classes. If this occurs, your entire fee will be refunded. There are no refunds for classes dropped less than 10 business days before class begins. A 50% refund will be issued if the museum is notified in writing at least 10 business days before class starts.
PHOTO WAIVER:
Explore More Discovery Museum reserves the right to use photos taken during classes and workshops for use in marketing. If you do not wish to have your child’s photo used for the museum’s purposes, please submit a request in writing with your registration form.
PICK UP/DROP OFF:
Please check in with your child at the Museum’s Newman Avenue side entrance in downtown Harrisonburg no more than 10 minutes before the class begins. A teacher will be there to check in your child and direct them to the 3rd floor kitchen. Pick up will occur at the same Newman Avenue entrance at the end of class. If someone other than the child’s parent or guardian is picking the child up, please notify the museum.
