Internship Opportunities at the Museum

The Discovery Museum, located in Harrisonburg, VA, has internship positions for each semester. We're always open to new ideas, and if you're interested in early childhood education or other aspects of the Museum, please contact us and we may be able to work with you to tailor an internship to meet your needs.

Development Intern 

The Explore More Discovery Museum has a Development Internship each semester. Interns have a passion for non-profit organizations, education, children, community development, and administration. Students will gain hands-on experience with a small non-profit, build a strong resume, and engage with the local community. Interns become active team members with our small staff and make a meaningful impact for families!

Program Intern

The Program Intern will facilitate gallery exploration for summer camp groups and conducting public programming for family audiences from mid-June through late-August. Students will gain practical experience teaching in the museum setting while also learning operating procedures and best practices required to run a successful children’s museum.
