What I'm learning
- Physical Development:
I am strengthening my fine motor skills and my spatial reasoning skills when I use kitchen utensils and fill bowls with food.
- Literacy and Language:
When I am picking out a recipe, I am learning how to read and follow directions. I am strengthening my literacy skills.
- Social Learning:
When I serve food in the kitchen, I am working with others and taking turns. I am learning what is important to others.
- Reasoning and Problem Solving:
I am following multi-step directions and completing activities.
Play & Learn Together:
- Physical Development:
Load and empty the washer and dryer. Stock the fridge with fresh food from the market.
- Literacy and Language:
Read through the recipes in the cookbook and pick out one you’ve never tried before.
- Social Learning:
Feed and walk the dog and discuss other responsibilities required for taking care of a living animal.
- Reasoning and Problem Solving:
Talk to your child about what would happen if they mixed certain foods together to make meals. Help them come up with unique cooking creations.
